Where Do The Richest Americans Live?

Have you checked the newest "Forbes 400: The Full List of The Richest People in America" yet?
Surprise, Bill Gates, with a net worth of $81 billion, is ranked No. 1 for the 23rd year running. Meanwhile, his friend Warren Buffett fell to third place for the first time in 15 years with a net worth of $65.5 billion.
Thanks to soaring stock prices of hot tech firms, CEOs at the helm of those companies seem to have been accumulating wealth at a much faster pace than others. Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos gained $20 billion to boost his net worth to $67 billion, making him the second-richest person in the U.S.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg jumped into fourth place, his highest rank ever, with a net worth of $55.5 billion. However, Oracle founder Larry Ellison landed at No. 5 for the first time since 2007. His net worth is $49.3 billion.
Standing on the No. 6 spot is former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, CEO of the eponymous firm Bloomberg L.P., who has a net worth of $45 billion.

hese six richest multi-billionaires have a combined $363.3 billion at their withdrawal, most of which is still held as stakes in the companies they founded. However, part of their fortune is vested in real estate. Mr. Gates, for one, owns a Washington mansion worth about $170 million, several horse ranches across the U.S. and shares in some luxury hotel chains through his private investment firm, Cascade.
Here, take a look at the residences the six richest moguls call home:
1. Bill Gates Worth: $81 billion Home: Medina, Washington
Mr. Gates, 60, spends most of his time at his 66,000-square-foot Medina, Washington, mansion, nicknamed Xanadu 2.0 after the title character's estate in Citizen Kane. The mansion overlooks Lake Washington. It took Mr. Gates seven years and $63.2 million to build this house, which is filled with lots of high-tech features. He purchased the lot for $2 million in 1988, but it's now worth an estimated $170 million, according to public records.
2. Jeff Bezos Worth: $67 billion Home: Medina, Washington
Mr. Bezos, 52, in the process of building his e-commerce empire, scooped up a vast amount of real properties over the years, earning him the No. 26 spot on The Land Report's list of America's largest landowners last year. In terms of residences, he has a 165,000-acre ranch in West Texas, a waterfront house in Washington state, three linked apartments in Manhattan's Century Tower, and a 12,000-square-foot Beverly Hills estate that boasts Tom Cruise as a neighbor, according to Forbes.
His home at Medina, Washington, close to Amazon’s headquarters, boasts 5.35 acres and about 29,000 square-foot of living space. Aside from the main home, there’s also a caretaker’s cottage and a 4,500-square-foot boathouse on Lake Washington.
3. Warren Buffett Worth: $65.5 billion Home: Omaha, Nebraska
Although the shrewdest investor on earth holds multiple real estate investments, Mr. Buffett, 86, is known for living humbly.
His home sits on a corner in Omaha, Nebraska, which he bought in 1958 for $31,500. Mr. Buffett has lived there ever since. The house, originally built in 1921, underwent several expansions to make it a cozy and comfortable 6,500-square-foot home for the man who has a net worth of over $65.5 billion.
4. Mark Zuckerberg Worth: $55.5 billion Home: Palo Alto, California
The youngest richest entrepreneur docks most of his wealth in schools, health and other philanthropies. His real estate portfolio include his home in Palo Alto and a 9.9-million pied-a-terre near Dolores Park in San Francisco.
Mr. Zuckerberg, 32, purchased his first Craftsman-style 5,000-square-foot home in Palo Alto in 2011 for $7 million. He snapped up four of the houses surrounding his home in the following years for about $43.8 million to better keep his privacy. But his plan to tear down and rebuild those four homes has been stalled.
5. Larry Ellison Worth: $49.3 billion Home: Woodside, California
Oracle executive chairman Larry Ellison, 72, has an extensive real estate portfolio. He has bought up large parts of whole neighborhoods in Malibu and around Lake Tahoe. He owns a $70-million Beechwood Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island; a garden villa in Kyoto, Japan; and 98% of the land of Lanai, Hawaii's sixth-largest island, which he purchased in 2012 for $500 million, according to published reports.
His estate in Woodside, California, with an estimated value of $110 million, is modeled after 16th-century Japanese architecture, complete with a man-made 2.3-acre lake.

6. Michael Bloomberg Worth: $45 billion Home: Manhattan, New York
Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, 74, has more than a dozen of properties worldwide. He spends most of his time at his Upper Estate Side townhouse, but he also owns estates in the Hamptons in New York, as well as in London, Bermuda, Colorado and Florida.
Mr. Bloomberg’s townhouse, located at 17 East 79th St., spans five stories with a limestone exterior. During his three terms as mayor, Mr. Bloomberg lived in the townhouse instead of Gracie Mansion. However, he apparently has a plan to turn it into a mega-mansion. Since 1989, he has been gradually buying up units at 19 East 79th St., the townhouse co-op that’s right next door to his current residence. Out of the six units in the white 1880 Greek-revival-style building, Bloomberg now owns five of them, according to The New York Observer.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6 Recap

The end of HBO’s Game of Thrones is here with one final episode and an ending that will have us talking and debating until George R.R. Martin ends the story himself. In the previous episode of Game of Thrones, Daenerys set fire to King’s Landing after Cersei’s surrender. Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6 showed us the aftermath and how Westeros picked up the pieces.

Queen of the Ashes

Jon and Tyrion walked the burnt streets of King’s Landing. Tyrion wanted to go to the Red Keep alone and found Cersei’s and Jaime’s bodies among the rubble. Jon and Davos came upon Grey Worm about to sentence Lannister soldiers to death. After a confrontation, Jon told him he was going to see Daenerys about her orders to kill all of Cersei’s followers. At the Red Keep, Daenerys gave a rousing speech to the Dothraki and Unsullied about conquering the world and freeing everyone as she freed the people of King’s Landing.

Tyrion threw his Hand of the Queen pin aside, and Daenerys had him taken away. Jon went to see Tyrion, who tried one last time to convince him that Daenerys was unfit to rule. He pointed out that, while they didn’t know what she said, her speech sounded like the war was not over like Jon had hoped.
Daenerys went to the throne room and touched the Iron Throne. Jon confronted her about the innocent people she’d killed. Daenerys wanted Jon to be with her, and in their embrace, he stabbed and killed her. Drogon arrived and, after seeing his dead mother, melted the Iron Throne. He took her body and flew away.

Bran the Broken

Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6 Recap
After some time has passed, Grey Worm brought Tyrion to the remaining Lords and Ladies of Westeros. Daenerys’s people wanted justice for her death and Tyrion’s betrayal. When Tyrion suggested that the new King or Queen should decide, they revealed that there wasn’t one. After some suggestions, Tyrion offered Bran’s name. Bran revealed that was why he was there, and he was unanimously chosen as King. All future rulers would be chosen and not born into their positions.
Bran chose Tyrion as his Hand, and since he didn’t want it, it was considered his punishment. Sansa declared that the North would be an independent nation, and Bran agreed. Jon was to join the Night’s Watch again as his punishment.
We saw the first small council meeting with Tyrion as Hand of the King, Bronn as Master of Coin, Davos as Master of Ships, Brienne as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, and Sam as Grand Maester. Sam brought Tyrion the recorded history of all that had transpired, “A Song of Ice and Fire”. Bran briefly inquired about Drogon’s whereabouts and Ser Podrick took him away to look for him. We also saw Brienne add to Jaime’s entry in The White Book.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6 Recap
Jon said goodbye to Arya and Sansa before shipping off to the Wall. Tormund and Ghost greeted him, and Jon gave Ghost a nice pat. They and the rest of the wildlings went north of the Wall as we saw a few blades of grass peek out from the snow, signaling the oncoming spring.
Arya set sail on her ship bearing the Stark sigil and a direwolf bow. She wanted to explore what was west of Westeros, beyond where the maps end. In Winterfell, Sansa was crowned Queen of the North.

New Coke making a brief comeback with Stranger Things partnership

Variety is reporting that Coca-Cola will be reviving New Coke for a brief comeback as part of their partnership with Netflix’s Stranger Things. Season 3 of the series will include New Coke in select episodes, prompting Netflix to reach out to Coca-Cola about the new promotion. You can check out the company’s Stranger Things Season 3 Coke ad in the player below!
New Coke launched in 1985 but didn’t last long on the shelves (only 79 days) as customers weren’t drawn to the sweeter version of the iconic drink. The company thinks consumers will have a new take on the beverage this time around, though. The streaming giant and Coca-Cola have been working on the promotion for about 18 months, requiring plenty of research and work.
Approximately 500,000 cans of New Coke will be made available to the public. Consumers will have the chance to buy it online as part of a package at CokeStore.com/1985, or at the company’s World of Coca-Cola the week of June 3 on select days. The company will also unveil limited-edition packages of original Coke with Stranger Things designs, as well as launching an ad in movie theaters. The ad, directed by the Duffer Brothers, is a remake of the original 1985 ad for New Coke.
Stranger Things Season 3 stars Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Chief Jim Hopper, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Cara Buono as Karen Wheeler, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Dacre Montgomery as Billy, Sadie Sink as Max, Maya Thurman-Hawke as Robin, Jake Busey as Bruce, Francesca Reale as Heather, and Cary Elwes as Mayor Kline.
The series was created by The Duffer Brothers, who also serve as executive producers and directors along with Shawn Levy (who also directs), Dan Cohen and Iain Patterson. Stranger Things is a Netflix production.
Stranger Things received 18 Emmy nominations last year (with five wins) and was honored with the 2017 SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, as well as the 2017 Norman Felton Producer of the Year Award in Episodic Television — Drama from the Producers Guild of America.
Season 3 will be available for streaming on July 4.

Kurtenbach: Whatever you do, don’t take the Warriors’ incredible run for granted

That’s not a knock — that’s the biggest reason to celebrate Monday’s triumph over the Blazers and another date with June basketball.
(Jose Carlos Fajardo/Bay Area News Group)
There are a million data points over the course of the last five years that, if changed, could have prevented this team from reaching this lofty status.
Perhaps Stephen Curry was always going to turn into a one-man revolution, but what if Curry’s ankles stay intact and he doesn’t sign a four-year, $44-million contract that helped the Dubs create this next-level roster?
And what if the Timberwolves didn’t decide to draft not one, but two point guards ahead of him?
Surely even the most ardent Draymond Green supporters couldn’t have foreseen that the pudgy, tweener would to turn into one of the greatest defenders of all time — an unparalleled leader and winner. Where would the Warriors be if they chose someone else with that second round pick or decided to keep playing the highly-paid David Lee?
What if Jerry West doesn’t step in and stop the Warriors from trading away Klay Thompson for Kevin Love?
Where would these Warriors be if the greed of LeBron James and Chris Paul — the leaders of the player’s union — didn’t act in their own self-interests and pushed for the adoption of the league’s proposal to smooth over a salary cap spike in the summer of 2016? Without that spike, the Warriors couldn’t have signed Kevin Durant, who took the Warriors from being a great team to being a league-wide existential crisis.
What happens if the Clippers didn’t match DeAndre Jordan’s offer sheet in 2011, or Festus Ezeli signs his contract extension in 2015, or if the Warriors decided to use that salary cap spike to run back the 73-win roster?
What if Steve Kerr chose the Knicks?
What if Larry Ellison — the highest bidder for the team when it went up for sale — wasn’t out-maneuvered by Joe Lacob and Peter Guber?
What if Lacob let the fans talk him out of the Monta Ellis for Andrew Bogut trade?
What if Kevon Looney never injured his hip at UCLA, allowing the five-star talent to drop to the Dubs in the NBA Draft?
What if, after one of Green and Kerr’s countless fights, they didn’t find a way to work it out?
What if the Green-Durant spat this past November was, indeed, a situation so toxic that it would infect the entire team?
What if Andre Iguodala didn’t play the Warriors in the 2013 Playoffs, allowing him to see the potential of Curry up close and understand that things were changing in the Bay as he headed into free agency?
What if the then 67-year-old Ron Adams didn’t propose that the Warriors put Bogut on Tony Allen after falling behind the tough-as-nails Grizzlies 2-1 in the second round of the 2015 NBA Playoffs?
What if then 28-year-old Nick U’Ren — an assistant who wasn’t technically a coach — didn’t feel empowered to speak up and suggest that the Warriors start Iguodala in the 2015 NBA Finals after they fell behind 2-1?
What happens if Thompson doesn’t go off in Game 6 of the 2016 Western Conference Finals?
What if J.R. Smith didn’t forget the score in Game 1 of last year’s NBA Finals?
Yes, what if Chris Paul and Kyrie Irving and Love don’t get injured along the way?
I can go on for days. I’ve probably gone on too long already.
(Jose Carlos Fajardo/Bay Area News Group)
All this to say that if even one of those things doesn’t break the Warriors’ way, this dynasty probably doesn’t exist. Greatness is achieved on the margins.
Perhaps this is all a karmic rebalancing. In the not-too-distant past, the Warriors were the laughingstock of the NBA. You can argue the team’s biggest moment — before this run started — was a first-round series win. (No one knew if the 1975 title-winning team would even stay in the Bay Area the next year.)
For decades, everything that could go wrong for the Warriors did. Every big decision they made seemed to be wrong, every 50-50 play went against them.
While the rest of North America rolls their eyes and clamors for a parity that’s never existed in the NBA with claims that the Warriors have ruined the league with this run, it’s important to remember that longtime Golden State fans – and there were frankly too many, given this team’s cursed history — deserve every bit of this good fortune and perhaps a bit more.
Because eventually, the luck will run out. Players will age out. The rest of the league will make up the “light years” gap this team created.
It’s only in the not-so-good times that we reminisce over the good-old-days. But we have an incredible opportunity right now to recognize the unprecedented greatness this Warriors team has put forward the past five years. No team has gone to five-straight NBA Finals since the 1960’s Boston Celtics, who played in an era of indentured players and seven other teams. The last North American professional sports team to go to five straight championship rounds was the New York Islanders, who went to five-straight Stanley Cup Finals from 1980 to 1984.
Leagues are build so this kind of success should be impossible. And yet the Warriors — of all teams, the Warriors… — have done it. And they might not be done yet.
(Ray Chavez/Bay Area News Group)
Golden State general manager Bob Myers grew up in the East Bay and went to games at Oracle Arena as a kid. The Warriors gave him every reason to not care or to pick another team, but he remained true to his hometown five. He was a big-time NBA agent, but he left that behind to go work for that team, eventually ascending to GM in 2011.

Occasionally things happen on Twitter that are so completely surreal that you just have to sit back and appreciate what an odd world we live in.
On Monday evening, Kim Kardashian West, of all people, sent a tweet to the American fast-food chain Jack in the Box asking them to check their corporate email inbox or to send her a DM (she didn't tag them in the tweet but I guess you don't need to do that sort of stuff when you are as famous as she is).
