UAE leaders mark Eid Al Fitr with prayers, greetings

Devotees across the country celebrate the start of Eid Al Fitr with morning prayers.

UAE leaders performed Eid Al Fitr prayers on Tuesday morning along with Muslims across the nation.
The President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has sent cables of congratulations to the kings, Emirs and presidents of Arab and Islamic states on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.
Sheikh Khalifa also wished them and their peoples continued progress, prosperity and stability.
Dubai
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, this morning performed the Eid al-Fitr prayer at Zabeel Mosque.
Performing the prayer alongside His Highness Sheikh Mohammed were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chief Executive of Emirates Group, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, a number of Sheikhs, officials and a group of worshipers.
In the Eid Al Fitr sermon, Imam Omar Al Khateeb stressed that peace is the foundation of Islam, noting that Islam is the religion of tolerance, moderation, justice, mercy and good manners.
The imam prayed to Allah Almighty to bless President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
The sermon concluded with a prayer on the souls of the late Sheikhs Zayed, Rashid, and Maktoum; calling on Allah Almighty to protect the nation and its people, and grant success for the country's leadership in their duty in serving the nation.
Abu Dhabi
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, performed Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed the First Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
Following the prayers, Sheikh Mohamed exchanged Eid greetings with worshippers.


Sharjah
His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at Al Badee Musallah in Sharjah.
A number of Sheikhs, senior officials, dignitaries joined Sheikh Sultan in the prayer.
Sharjah Ruler exchanged Eid greetings at Al Badee Palace with Sheikhs, ministers, heads of federal and local government departments, heads of diplomatic corps accredited to the UAE, dignitaries, citizens and other well-wishers.
